HOTEL SNAPSHOT

In the creative heart of Athens, the Apollo Palm Hotel combines contemporary design with local character. The 48-room boutique property in Psyrri blends Greek coastal elegance with a touch of mid-century charm. With its rooftop bar overlooking the Acropolis, lush courtyard, and growing reputation among the city’s design crowd, the hotel has quickly become a standout stay in one of Athens’s liveliest districts.

Design + Character

In a way, it felt a bit like a brilliant 1970s revival inside. Warm vintage details, an omnipresent golden glow, a creamy color scheme, a curved reception desk swathed in brass, and a pair of Bauhaus-style edifices are just a few highlights from Paris-based designer Mariette Sans-Rival’s vision here. Much of the overall aesthetic matches the lines of a ship, a nod to Greece’s maritime heritage. 

The Rooms

Each of the 48 rooms carries soft whites accented by pale yellows and blues, tall ceilings, and understated furnishings.  A selection of loft-style rooms introduces a playful design touch, with elevated sleeping areas accessed by ladder. All rooms include complimentary minibars, air conditioning, sleek tiled bathrooms with Greek toiletries, and a daily breakfast featuring local pastries, cheeses, and fruit.

Food + Drink

Dining centers around the Patio Wine Bar & Bistro, where tables are set among greenery in the courtyard. Modern Greek dishes highlight local ingredients—the Santorini salad with cherry tomatoes and tsalafouti cheese, crisp zucchini tempura, and grilled octopus are early favorites. The wine list focuses on natural and organic Greek producers. Upstairs, the rooftop bar offers panoramic Acropolis views.

The rooftop serves as the hotel’s social hub, while the courtyard provides a quiet place to unwind. You’ll be welcomed with complimentary breakfast, speedy Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a lobby with some spots for co-working.

Set in Psyrri, one of Athens’s most dynamic neighborhoods, Apollo Palm is surrounded by a mix of art galleries, workshops, and traditional tavernas. Major landmarks—the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Library, and the Ancient Agora—are within a 20-minute walk. The area’s blend of creativity and history captures modern Athens at its best, with the Michelin-starred Linou Soumpasis k sia and other acclaimed restaurants nearby.
