Hotel Snapshot

Miraflores was once mostly pastureland and beachfront villas until Lima's elite began building grand Tudor-style family homes here in the early 20th century. Most of these homes are gone now, replaced by the glass towers and clifftop malls that define the ritzy residential district today. Atemporal is one of the few holdouts that survived—a 1940s casona limeña, still standing with its own walled garden on a quiet residential corner. It's an ideal respite to return to after a day of exploring.

Atemporal has no lobby and no formal front desk. Upon arrival, you ring a bell at a heavy wooden door—staff will greet you and carry your suitcases inside. It feels less like a hotel check-in and more like arriving at a stylish friend's house. Inside the mansion, there are six guest rooms, a terrace garden lounge where breakfast is served, a living room, an honor bar, and a team that runs the place like a well-kept home. Only guests have access to the property, meaning it's very private—you might not run into anyone else during your stay.

Design & Character

Architect Jordi Puig and designer Sandra Masías collaborated to reimagine the home while preserving its bones: its original timber beams, stained-glass windows, and Gothic-revival roofline were left alone during the restoration, while the interiors were updated to include mid-century furniture, patterned textiles, and a collection of contemporary Peruvian art.

The ground floor is anchored by a book-lined sitting room, a wraparound veranda overlooking the terraced garden lounge, and a house kitchen that contains the honor bar, a refrigerator full of complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, and rotating snacks. There's a 24/7 coffee bar on the second floor, along with a reading nook tucked into a stained-glass window and a work desk that guests are free to use.

The Rooms

There are six rooms across three room categories (Cozy, Charming, and Grand).

The Cozy and Charming categories are great for quick city trips: these rooms offer the option of a queen bed or two twin beds and range between 200 and 300 square feet. There's a split bathroom with a walk-in shower and either a desk or a sitting area.

For a special-occasion getaway, consider booking a spacious Grand room, which clocks in at 495 square feet and comes with a king-size bed that can be split into twin beds, a lounge area, a large bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub, double showers, and double sinks.

Cots can be added to rooms for an additional charge. An extra bed can be added to Grand rooms—children ages six to 12 stay at a discounted rate.

The Food & Drink

Breakfast is included, and the highlight is a plate of freshly baked English muffins alongside a seasonal fruit tower and homemade marmalade, best eaten in the garden under a canopy of angel's trumpet flowers hanging over the tables. In the afternoon, house-baked Bundt cake and cookies appear without asking. Evenings bring complimentary cocktails before the honor bar takes over—if you care to enjoy an alcoholic drink, write it in the ledger book, and it'll be tallied and added to your bill at the end of your stay.

The Amenities

While there's no spa, pool, or gym, a dedicated concierge can help you find and arrange whatever you need, whether it's an in-room massage, a workout class, or a museum tour. House bicycles are available for short trips. Turndown service is available at night, and complimentary soft drinks are always available in the communal kitchen refrigerator.

Location & Neighborhood Recs

Miraflores makes for the perfect home base while exploring Lima—it's one of the most walkable, ocean-adjacent districts, and Atemporal sits on one of its quietest residential streets. Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Incan adobe pyramid, is an ideal after-breakfast activity. Malecón de Miraflores is a 30-minute walk away, and Parque El Olivar—a shaded, centuries-old olive grove—is right

around the corner. A trip to the neighborhood wouldn't be complete without a leisurely lunch at La Mar, where the leche de tigre ceviche and scallops are must-orders.
