“Lowkey” and “Beverly Hills” don’t often exist in the same sentence, but L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills is the kind of low-key, quiet luxury escape that’s hard to find in Los Angeles. 

The hotel features a suites-only setup for a comfortably spacious stay, and boasts a private location on a tree-lined street that offers a respite from the bustling pace of LA’s most elite neighborhood. The service throughout the property is unmatched—expect everyone, from the concierge to the hosts at the restaurants, to remember your name—and the amenities are plentiful. 

You’ll find yourself at a loss for where to sit in your room, as every sofa and chair is more comfortable than the next. And if you’re in one of the Heritage Suites or one of their specialty suites, you’ll have plenty of space to entertain your family or guests. 

No detail is too small at L’Ermitage: find your initials embroidered onto your pillowcase (as well as your pet’s name sewn into a customized bandana, if you’re traveling with your four-legged friend), handwritten cards greet you upon arrival and bid you farewell upon departure, and indulge in Diptyque bathroom products that smell as delicious as they feel. 

Though the furnishings are classic and glamorous, they still feel homey and welcoming, allowing you to settle in, no matter how long your stay is. 

L’Ermitage’s tagline is “Please, make yourself at home,” and they really do fulfill that promise. Though the property oozes Beverly Hills opulence, you’ll feel like you’re walking into a home that was tailor-made just for you.

The Vibe: A classic, luxurious city hotel that offers a quiet, comfortable escape. 

Food + Drink: There are two dining options on-site: Costa Cova Osteria and Alcova. Costa Cova’s menu is Italian and Mediterranean-inspired, offering creative pastas and entrees to satisfy a wide range of tastes. It is open from 6:30 A.M. to 10 P.M., offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Order the straciatella for your appetizer, and for your main, the corn mafaldine is quite special, made with Maine lobster and an Italian-influenced XO sauce. Alcova, their lobby lounge, offers drinks and small bites to hold you over between lunch and dinner.

What’s Nearby? L’Ermitage is just a stone’s throw away from the heart of Beverly Hills, making all the shops and restaurants on Rodeo Drive easily accessible via a short walk. You can also drive to the neighboring areas of Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and more.
