The Mount Nevis Hotel is a 4.8-star, 44-room boutique hotel in Newcastle, on the northern coast of Nevis. Highlights include the 60-foot freshwater pool with mountain and Caribbean Sea views.
When you arrive at The Mount Nevis Hotel, your first reaction is likely to be “wow.” That was certainly mine. With mountains covered in lush greenery, some peaks shrouded in mist, palm trees, the bluest of blues of the Caribbean Sea, and 17 acres of unspoiled land, the air is immediately calming.
I exhaled.
The hotel isn't in a heavily trafficked tourist area. Here, you'll find tropical foliage and gardens, and that’s about it. The vibe is intimate, cozy, comfortable, and crowd-free. The quiet settles your soul. This is what people come to Nevis for.
Design & Character at The Mount Nevis Hotel

Mount Nevis is understated Caribbean luxury at its best. The hotel isn’t tripping over itself trying to impress. It’s elegant enough that you feel like you’re somewhere special, but you don’t have to worry about anyone whispering or giving you sideways looks if you’re not in designer resort wear for dinner. The 40-year-old hotel was built into the hillside of a former lime plantation that dates to the 1800s. Every room and public space is oriented to take in the awesome views of St. Kitts and the Caribbean Sea.
The Rooms at The Mount Nevis Hotel

The hotel has 44 rooms across five two-story pavilions, including deluxe rooms and superior suites, several with spacious open-plan living areas and private fretwork balconies or patios overlooking St. Kitts and the Caribbean Sea. Every room is individually named by owner Noreen Meguid’s mother, Sally, who, along with her dad, Adly, built the hotel. Room names are of birds, carnivals, flowers, and plantations indigenous to Nevis. Superior suites have full kitchens. The décor features lots of wicker, rattan, and bright colors.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a Caribbean and continental menu. Much of what is baked and served comes from the hotel’s organic garden and local farmers. Dine outside on favorites like the Caribbean jerk chicken or the mango chili BBQ pork ribs—slow-cooked ribs, mashed potato, and cilantro lime coleslaw. The frozen mango daiquiris are downright delicious. A recent addition is a Pizza Bar by the pool that serves brick oven pizzas.

The centerpiece of the property is the 60-foot freshwater pool. Lounge poolside with a cocktail, take a dip, or just stare out at the Caribbean Sea and mountains. The property also has a fitness center and a conference center. If you don’t feel like going to the restaurant, you can order room service. For those planning a destination wedding, go for a one-of-a-kind venue at Cottle Church, a 200-year-old church ruin on the property. Airport transfers are another plus.
