The Amalfi Coast is close to many travelers’ hearts. Whether planning a honeymoon, babymoon, or long-imagined Italian escape, choosing the right base matters. Hotel Poseidon Positano is a family-owned boutique hotel that offers luxury without sanding away the destination’s character.
Located in the heart of Positano and accessible by car, the hotel saves guests from hauling luggage up the town’s famously steep stairways. Its 48 rooms and suites often book a year in advance, with returning guests reserving favorites early. Most combine sea views, large windows, private balconies, or all three.
Breakfast on the terrace is every bit as photogenic as the view. Cappuccino and crisp sfogliatella arrive beneath the Amalfi sun, setting an appropriately leisurely pace for the day.
Guests can reserve the hotel’s vintage Volkswagen Beetle for a complimentary drive along the Amalfi Coast. There is only one, and it has a manual transmission, so book it early and be prepared to drive.
An outdoor pool, Il Tridente restaurant, and a casual snack bar make lingering at the property easy. Still, the hotel sits close to Positano’s beach, shops, and nightlife. Comfortable shoes remain essential.
After exploring, return to the terrace for a seasonal aperitivo made with local fruit and herbs. In Southern Italian fashion, cocktails arrive with enough complimentary bites to become dinner. The combination of sunset, spritzes, and family hospitality captures what travelers come to Positano to find.
