Situated behind a plant-dappled barricade that softens Jodhpur’s commotion, The Rohet House is a boutique retreat within easy reach of the city’s famous blue buildings.

With eight rooms, including six suites, the property feels like a private family home because it is one. The Singh family lives on the estate and often interacts with guests, sharing a lineage that stretches back to the seventeenth century.

Deep green foliage fills the spaces between the entrance, communal rooms, and buildings. Guestrooms carry painted portraits, women in vivid saris, animal scenes, flowers, patterned headboards, and homespun rugs. Every room feels individual and spacious.

Outside, a turquoise-tiled pool is framed by a colonnaded terrace, cream curtains, ceiling fans, and mint-green loungers. It is an easy place to disappear after a day in the city.

The restaurant sits within the garden and serves recipes passed through the family. The mutton curry with red chilis is a standout. The Rohet House ultimately feels less like checking into a hotel than being welcomed into a cultivated friend’s estate.
